About the Event
The Saguenay Triathlon takes place in a charming setting, by the Rivière-aux-Sables, in a peaceful residential neighborhood. It is a friendly event that attracts participants of all ages, offering a festive and dynamic atmosphere. With events suited for different levels, it is the perfect opportunity to discover triathlon or to compete against other athletes in a warm environment.
The Course
The course consists of three disciplines: swimming, cycling, and running. The swimming segment is done in a loop in the river, with a continuous start allowing participants to choose their pace. The cycling course is a 10 km out-and-back route through the streets of Jonquière and a flat agricultural road, while the running takes place on a hilly bike path. The distances offered are:
- Initiation Triathlon: 1.5 km swimming, 38.5 km cycling, 10 km running
- Sprint Triathlon: 750 m swimming, 23.1 km cycling, 5 km running
- Olympic Triathlon: 1.5 km swimming, 38.5 km cycling, 10 km running
- Sprint Duathlon: 5 km running, 23.1 km cycling, 5 km running
- U15 and U13 Categories: adapted distances
