Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-06-10

1. Who we are

CourseQuébec (the "Site") is a platform dedicated to running in Québec, operated by H1Site. For any questions about this policy or your personal data, contact us at info@h1site.com.

2. Data we collect

We only collect data necessary to operate the Site:

  • Newsletter signup: email address.
  • User account: email, name (if you add one), profile picture (if you add one), via Supabase Auth.
  • User-generated content: events, GPS routes, stores, comments and photos you publish on the Site.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, visit duration — collected via Google Analytics and our server logs.
  • Cookies and ad identifiers: see the Cookies section below.

3. How we use your data

  • Provide Site features (calendar, routes, planner, accounts).
  • Send our newsletter (only if you opted in) and a confirmation email when you sign up.
  • Improve the Site with aggregated analytics.
  • Display advertising via Google AdSense (only if you accepted advertising cookies).
  • Comply with our legal obligations.

4. Sharing with third parties

We never sell your data. We only share the minimum necessary with the following processors, all bound by confidentiality:

  • Supabase (USA / EU) — database hosting and authentication.
  • Vercel (USA) — Site hosting.
  • Resend (USA) — email delivery (newsletter, notifications).
  • Google Analytics (USA) — anonymized audience analytics.
  • Google AdSense (USA) — advertising delivery (only after consent).

Some of these services may transfer your data outside Canada. We use providers that adhere to recognized legal frameworks (Standard Contractual Clauses, Data Privacy Framework).

5. Cookies and advertising

The Site uses three categories of cookies:

  • Essential (always on): login session, language preferences.
  • Analytics (consent required in EU/UK/CH): Google Analytics — to understand how the Site is used.
  • Advertising (consent required in EU/UK/CH): Google AdSense — to display contextual and personalized ads.

The Site implements Google Consent Mode v2. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies are blocked by default: a consent banner (Google Funding Choices) lets you accept or reject them, and nothing is stored before you choose. You can change your choice at any time via the consent window, which reappears on the next page load after you clear your browser cookies.

Elsewhere — including Quebec and the rest of Canada — these cookies are active on arrival. You can opt out by blocking third-party cookies in your browser settings, using the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, or turning off ad personalization in your Google settings.

6. Data retention

  • User accounts: as long as your account remains active. You can delete it anytime.
  • Newsletter signups: until you unsubscribe.
  • Analytics data: kept for a maximum of 14 months (Google Analytics setting).
  • Server logs: 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under Quebec Law 25, the GDPR (Europe), and similar laws, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you.
  • Correct or complete it.
  • Request its deletion ("right to be forgotten").
  • Object to its use for advertising purposes.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time.
  • File a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or a European data protection authority.

To exercise these rights, write to info@h1site.com. We respond within a maximum of 30 days.

8. Security

We use HTTPS across the Site, hashed passwords (Supabase Auth), and restrict data access to people who strictly need it. No system is perfectly secure; in the event of a security incident affecting your data, we will notify you as required by law.

9. Minors

The Site is not intended for children under 14. If you are a parent and find that your child has provided us with personal data without your consent, contact us to have it deleted.

10. Changes

This policy may be updated. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Significant changes will be notified to you by email if you are subscribed.
